Adding a team member or sub-contact to your account

You don't have to share your main account credentials with a colleague. The LYLIX portal supports sub-contacts with their own login, their own email for notifications, and per-area permissions. This article walks through adding one and tuning what they can see.

Adding a contact

  1. Log in to the portal as the main account holder.
  2. Account → Contacts.
  3. Click Add new contact.
  4. Fill in name, email, and (optionally) phone for the new person.
  5. Set a password if they need to log in — leave blank if they only need email notifications.
  6. Set permissions (see below).
  7. Save.

The new contact gets an invitation email to log in. They share the customer ID with you but have their own credentials.

Permission flags

Each contact can be granted any subset of these:

  • General Email Preferences — receives the same general announcements your main email does.
  • Product Notices — service-specific notifications (suspension, status changes).
  • Domain Notices — domain renewal and change notifications.
  • Invoice / Billing Notices — receives invoices. Good for routing billing to accounting while product notices go to the engineer.
  • Support Emails — copied on tickets.
  • Allow this contact to open and modify support tickets — lets them file tickets under your account.
  • Allow this contact to manage products and services — full access to portal service management (reboots, snapshots, upgrades). Grant carefully.

Common configurations

  • Accounting team member: invoice notices only. No support, no service management.
  • Backup engineer: support emails + open tickets + manage products. Full operational coverage when you're not available.
  • Read-only manager: product notices only (visibility into outages). No ability to act.

Removing a contact

Same page — find the contact and use the delete option. The contact's login is revoked immediately. Any tickets they opened remain in your account history.

Limits and notes

  • No hard limit on number of contacts per account.
  • Each contact's email must be unique across the LYLIX portal (they can't share an email with the main account or another contact).
  • Sub-contacts can't add their own sub-contacts. Only the main account holder manages the contact list.
  • The main account email is separate from the contact list — change it under Account → Profile, not Contacts.
